Kartell – the culture of plastic, Elisa Storace & Hans W. Holzwarth,Taschen

“PLASTIC FUN-tastic”

Kartell, the book by Taschen will be officially the first book review in 2013 for you so in this case I wish you a plastic FUN-tastic happy new year! Kartell is an Italien company that makes and sells plastic contemporary furniture. Giulio Castelli, joined forces with renowned designer Gino Colombini, kicking things off in 1949.The company, headquartered up to this day is based in Milan, Castelli began manufacturing automobile accessories in 1949. It expanded into home furnishings in 1963. The 60´s a perfect introduction to plastic cult objects with a stylish design.

The book has an attractive and clean layout, straightforward structure with focus on the decades since the early 50´s combined with endless buzzing colorful images of the plastic empire & products / designs. This coffee table book is virtually for each and every interior lover, interior students and 60´s lovers & 60´s generation birth child a cultural must have for (IDEALLY!) your Kartell bookshelf (worm) at home

I personally enjoy that this book visually demonstrates very well how modern even futuristic this company has been always been from the very start until presents. I believe the secret behind this ability is simple; to always keep your style & reinvent Plastic FUN-tastic in the most creative as shown in this impressive brand bible.
